Cloud agents without MCP

Give the agent https://api.lots.social/docs.md and an API key from lotstech.com/api. It calls the REST API with Authorization: Bearer <key>.

Every server uses OAuth: your agent acts as you, inside your own roles and workspaces. You can disconnect it at any time from the app.

Questions, answered.

What is an MCP server?

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the open standard AI agents use to call tools in other apps. Each LotsTech app runs a remote MCP server, so an agent like Claude or ChatGPT can create posts, update a CRM or read notes for you, with your permission.

Which AI agents work with LotsTech?

Any client that supports remote MCP servers with OAuth: Claude, ChatGPT (developer mode), Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Windsurf and others. Cloud agents that only call HTTP APIs can use the REST API with an API key instead.

Do I need an API key for MCP?

No. You add the URL and sign in with your Lots account; the agent gets its own access that you can disconnect later. API keys are for REST integrations and agents without MCP support.

What can my agent do once connected?

Whatever the tools for that app allow, inside your own permissions: schedule and publish social posts, publish blog posts, manage feature requests and support, keep a CRM current, read and update shared notes, create short links, or update a directory listing. Each app's page lists every tool.

Is it safe to connect an agent?

The agent acts as you, never as an administrator, and only in the workspaces you can access. Everything it does appears in the app's dashboard, where you can review and change it, and you can revoke the connection whenever you want.

Does it cost extra?

No. MCP and the REST API are included with every app. You pay for the app's own capacity (for example connected social accounts or CRM workspaces), and your AI provider bills its own usage.

Can one agent use several LotsTech apps?

Yes. Add as many servers as you like. A common setup is LotsNotes for business context, LotsSocial for posting and LotsCRM for follow-ups, all in the same agent.
